Ülkü Yalçın was born in Izmir, Adagide
1975 She graduated from the Izmir High School for Girls
1975 She began education at the Izmir Buca Education Institute Art
Department, but had to interrupt her studies. However, this caused her
livelong passion for painting.
1978 She graduated from the Social Science Department of the Izmir Buca
Education Institute.
1996 She achieved her licence in History from the Anatolia University and
started to teach history for 25 years in Izmir, Siirt, Ankara and Izmir/
Tire until the year 2004.
Ülkü Yalçın
always felt that giving an education to her students is a most valuable mission
for her country. After being retired she continued to paint in Izmir/ Tire and
she reflects her love of nature, mankind and history in her work. Ülkü Yalçın
showed her paintings for the first time in an individual exhibition in Izmir/
Tire. Besides, she participated in a number of group
exhibitions in Kuşadası, Ayvalık and Tire.
This year's exhibition is titled:
"Essential Sun".
"My canvasses evolve from the affection,
flowing from my soul in assembly with the charm of nature. My paintings are like
children, they are born, grow, develop and live with my love. Blending the
infinity of my spirit with the originality and nobility of the sun, the
"Essential Sun" evolves and its existence is inscribed in history with nature's
own brush."
