 The
artist has been born 1968 in Sinop. In 1992 he graduated from the Gazi
Education Faculty. He opened his first individual exhibition 1990 at METU's
Solmaz İzdemir Exhibition Salon and has showed seven individual exhibitions
until now. The artist's work has been shown in numerous group exhibitions,
but he could not participated in any competition exhibition since 1994. He
is a member of UNESCO AIAP International Plastic Arts Society since 1993 and
works today from his own studio in Sinop/ Gerze.
The crudest state of my compositions is when the line is yet pure and
undefined and has still to evoke his final form- this I regard as my
starting point. Formally, the entity of lines making up art work is just an
element defining the surface of a composition. In conceptual work, the so
defined line during its most pure and primitive creation period exposes all
of life's contradictions. The story all of my pictures tell, is a story
untouched, unaffected by black-white, negative- positive, essentially from
one angle transferred onto canvas unmoved by a life understood as oriental
(events and facts) and the side of an society without epochal values (like
good- bad, life- death).
